Puerto Rican businesses profile:

Pensar Africa's mission is Trade not Aid which initially started in Africa but after Hurricane Maria many small Puerto Rican businesses have limited ways to generate income due to lack of electricity, communication and post Hurricane Maria damages.

Pensar Africa has dedicated this section to small business and artist to showcase and possibly sell their products on this platform.

Another way to assist Puerto Rico is via commerce - Make sure you support one local business for the coming holiday season.

 

 PasionxFrida is based out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Eva Valez, has been a small business owner for over 34 years of expereince. Eva has covered many festivals and markets around the island for more than 3 decades.  She has an exclusive line of Frida Khalo and plays an active role in creating and manufacturing Frida inspired products from her studio in Cupey (suburbs of San Juan) and in Mexico.  

TeeChealo Tee Chealo is based out of Humacao, puerto Rico. This small family business is run by Rick and Vett. They have beautiful designs but also give you the freedom to customize as you wish. Check them out for  Casual wear, glassware, stickers and wood furniture! 

Colón Xoyas Colon Xoyas is based out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Damarys Colon is the artist behind beautiful metal jewelry. Damarys a former healthcare worker (Occupational Therapist) started her enterprenuership journey about 5.5 years ago. She was trained by two local designers and went on to study Fashion Marketing at Instituto Europeo de Design in Barcelona, Spain. 

 Zelis Nanette Zelis Nanette is based out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Zelis is a self - taught seamstress who specializes in stretch fabrics and currently working on her new swimsuit line inspired by geometric shapes and multi-panel patterns. Zelis Nanette has taken short courses in fashion design and photography at the Fashion Institute in New York City.

Kimpande Jewelry by Eduardo Paz Kimpande Jewelry by Eduardo Paz is based out of Bayamon, Puerto Rico.  Kimpande's pieces are Afro influenced and made using brass and bull horn. Eduardo recently travelled to Taxco, Mexico to study different techniques in metalsmithing.  

Latitude Watch Latitude Watch is based out of Loiza, Puerto Rico. Founded in 2016 by Cesar Rivera. Cesar returned back to Puerto Rico after spending 3 years studying Public Relations and playing baseball for Alabama State University.
